OptionsThe Options dialog contains the following categories:
General Truncate text after question marks (?) in referrer URLs - truncate parameters of scripts that are placed after questions marks Truncate text after sharps (#) in referrer URLs - remove anchor names (that are placed after # character) from referrer URLs Truncate text after question marks (?) in file names - truncate parameters of scripts requested on your site Show internal visitor referrers (referrers from the analyzed site) - if this option is set referrers that are URLs from the analyzed site will be shown in referrer list Show search engines in referrers - show referrers recognized as search engines in the lists of referring sites and referring URLs Show downloaded files in paths through site - show downloaded files in the "Paths through site" report Convert file names to lower case when analyzing IIS logs - this option can be useful if you analyze IIS logs and your visitors request files with different character cases e.g. Index.htm and index.htm. IIS usually works with file systems (FAT or NTFS) that have case insensitive file names. Convert user names to lower case when analyzing IIS logs - use this option to convert authenticated user names to lower case when you analyze IIS logs Show 3D charts in reports - show 3D style charts in the report Smooth charts in HTML reports - smoothed charts look better but are larger and generated slower Note: chart smoothing isn't supported when the program runs from the scheduler under Windows Vista/2008 or later. Expand one item at a time in report navigation tree - you can set this option to off to allow expanding multiple tree items at a time Use multiple processors (if available) - if this option is set and the program is running on a multiprocessor or multicore system, multithreaded analysis will be used to take advantage of multiple processors/cores. Show full log file path in progress window - show full processed log file path in the progress window during analysis Visitor session timeout - timeout value used for determining visitors
Files Use this category to specify extensions of pages, download files and images. Separate extensions with spaces. Date & Time Time Zone - these options determine how time from log files is converted into time used when analyzing logs. By default (if the Use system time zone option is on) the program uses Windows settings to convert server time to the local time. You can also specify custom time offset (in hours). Date Format - the program can use either default Windows date format or a custom format. The custom date format must include information about day, month, and year. You can use the following format specifiers: | d | day as a number without a leading zero (1-31) | | dd | day as a number with a leading zero (01-31) | | m | month as a number without a leading zero (1-12) | | mm | month as a number with a leading zero (01-12) | | yy | year as a two-digit number (00-99) | | yyyy | year as a four-digit number (0000-9999) |
Examples: mm/dd/yyyy, dd/mm/yyyy, dd.mm.yyyy First day of week - select a day that will be used as the first day of week in reports Ignore Lists Ignore lists help to exclude hits with specified host and/or referrer from analysis. The lists work for all profiles. You can use them to exclude "referrer spam" requests or other requests that shouldn't be analyzed in all profiles. List values are case insensitive. Log Cache The program supports download and time range caches. You can change their location by specifying another log cache folder. Download cache. The download cache is used to store previously downloaded log files. Every time the program needs to download a file, it first checks whether this version of the file is already in cache. It checks not only the name of the file but also it's size and date to determine whether the file has been modified since the last download. Time range cache. This cache contains information on time ranges of previously analyzed log files. The program uses this cache to quickly determine if it is necessary to analyze a file when some time range is specified in the profile properties. The cache contains information on size and date of each cached file, so the program checks if a log file hasn't been changed and it is possible to use the cached time range without reanalyzing the file. Format Use this category to specify general report format options. You can also specify custom report format settings in profile properties. Language - report language Custom report title - use custom report title. You can use the %ProfileName% (profile name) and %DomainName% (domain name specified in the profile properties) macros in the report title. HTML Use this category to specify HTML report format options. You can also specify custom report format settings in profile properties. Layout - generate multi-page or single-page reports Extension - file extension used for report pages Index page - report index page name without extension PDF [Requires Professional Edition] Use this category to specify PDF report format options. You can also specify custom report format settings in profile properties. Page size - page size for generated reports Show report contents - show report contents when opening report files Embedded fonts - embed used fonts in generated PDF files. Font embedding causes the PDF files to be larger but they can be viewed correctly even if used fonts aren't installed on computer where the files are viewed. Items This category allows you to specify default number of items in report tables and charts. You can set custom number of items for individual tables and charts in the Contents category or in profile properties. Truncate reports at N items - display reports for the specified number of top items only Show last N days in tables - show information about the last N days in daily activity reports Maximum number of items in charts - these options allow you to define number of items in various types of charts Custom [Requires Professional Edition] Use this category to create and manage custom report tables. Enabled tables and associated charts are shown in the report contents so you can select them either in the program options or profile properties. You can also save and load custom tables. If you load tables from a file, existing tables with the same unique IDs as the loaded ones aren't overwritten. The program generates table ID automatically when you create a table to correctly identify it even if you change its name. Contents Use this category to specify which tables and charts to generate in reports, as well as properties of individual tables and charts. You can also specify custom report contents in profile properties. Change All - change properties of all the report tables and charts. Select All - select all report tables and charts. Clear All - deselect all report tables and charts. Properties - edit properties of selected report table or chart. You can also double click the appropriate name in the report tree. Browser You can specify a browser to show HTML reports after analysis. Use default browser - open HTML reports using the default associated program Open reports in new browser window - this option is mostly useful if the default browser is Internet Explorer because it reuses open browser windows when opening pages from disk by default. Use custom browser - open HTML reports using the specified program Show reports in the Internet zone when using Internet Explorer - use this option to force Internet Explorer to show reports in the Internet security zone even if they are located on a local drive. This option is useful if you use Internet Explorer with the "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer" option disabled (this option was added in Windows XP SP2). In such case Internet Explorer doesn't run scripts in local pages so the report contents tree isn't shown. Showing pages in the Internet zone can help to avoid this problem because Internet Explorer allows pages in the Internet zone to use scripts in most cases. WebLog Expert forces Internet Explorer to show pages in the Internet zone by adding a Mark of the Web comment to generated pages. DNS This category allows you to specify the DNS lookup options. See the DNS Lookup topic for more information. Proxy Specify proxy settings used to download logs via HTTP. E-mail [Requires Professional Edition] Use this category to specify how to send reports via e-mail. The program can use SMTP or MAPI to send the reports. You can specify the following settings: SMTP: SMTP Server - domain name or IP address of the SMTP server Sender name - name of the mail sender (used in the From field of e-mails) Sender e-mail - e-mail address of the mail sender (used in the From field of e-mails) Other SMTP settings: Reply e-mail - e-mail address used in the Reply-To field of e-mails. Use this option if you want replies sent to a specified e-mail address (instead of the one specified as sender e-mail). Port - SMTP port. In most cases you need to use the default port (25). Username - username used to access the SMTP server (if required) Password - password for the specified username MAPI: Profile - MAPI profile name Password - password for the specified profile Default Mail Contents - open dialog to specify default mail options (subject, message, attachment name) |
